Campus students will never forget the earthquake that rocked the Los Angeles International Church of Christ-Metro Heights building on the night of June 8th, 2008. This wasn’t a typical earthquake, but a different type, a spiritual awaking for over 25 campus interns. The interns worshiped together, sung, prayed, and dedicated their summer to seeking out the lost, helping one another, and ultimately, absolute devoted service to God.

The L.A. Church's campus ministries helped more than 100 college students become true disciples of Jesus Christ last year.
One of the new Christians is Long Beach City College
student Hector Perez, for whom the Holy Spirit took a unique route in
calling:
A group of disciples went to Santa Barbara in the
summer and shared their faith to prepare the ground for a campus
mission team planting.

I learned
at a very young age that God existed and that he was much bigger than I
am. This was mainly because both of my parents believed in God. My dad
is Catholic and my mom is Baptist, so before my parents divorced I went
to Catholic school and church, and after they divorced, I went to
Christian school and church. We were very religious.
