The Ministry Leadership Group, consisting of the Elders and Regional Evangelists, is excited to announce that we have asked Bruce Williams to be the Congregational Evangelist for the Los Angeles International Church of Christ. His wife, Robyn, will serve by his side as a Women\'s Ministry Leader. About two years ago, we prayerfully considered whether it was best for the LA Church to function as one congregation serving the entire LA geographical area, or to reorganize into several congregations encompassing smaller areas. Following discussions with the LAICC Board of Directors and others, we became more sensitized to the fact that there were many different groups that benefited and preferred to be a part of a larger congregation, such as our teen, campus and singles ministries. After much prayer and discussions, we decided to it was best to continue as one congregation. At that time we asked Bruce to chair our leadership group and assist us in cooperatively working together in our different ministries and events; we and the Board decided that this warranted that the LA Church provide half of his support and the remainder of his support coming from the Orange County Region. Bruce has done an excellent job by helping us function respectfully as a decision-making group,. Since we believe the entire church has benefited greatly from the elders and regional evangelists working together as a team, our group will continue to be the final decision-making group of the church. As the church has moved forward and continued to regain its spiritual health and vision, Bruce\'s role has grown beyond just those earlier needs and beyond what anyone can fill on a part-time basis. As most of you know, our church is organized into a total of 9 regions, 8 geographical and one, AMS, (Arts, Media, Sports) with a specialized outreach throughout L.A., located primarily in Burbank and the San Fernando Valley area. Each regional evangelist has been given the charge of being the lead evangelist, equipping the brothers and sisters in his part of the LA church (region) to effectively evangelize their area with the saving message of Jesus Christ as well as helping one another mature in Christ. In a geographical area of this magnitude, we believe that this continues to be the most effective means to greater growth and maturity. However, it has also become obvious that we need someone who can provide overall leadership and oversight as we work together in fulfilling the great mission that God has given to all of us. We need an evangelist to think about the church as a whole and provide direction and help where needed. Therefore, we have asked Bruce to give his full attention to a new role as Congregational Evangelist, with Robyn by his side to assist the women. Please pray that God will use them in these new roles to make sure that the entire church continues to progress with spiritual and evangelistic momentum, by providing assistance, discipling, advice, long-range planning, and continuity to us and the regions. We are excited about the future and look forward to God using every disciple to impact more souls in this great metropolitan area of the world.
