Robert Carrillo grew up in California educated at the University of San Diego and San Diego State University receiving a bachelor's degree in History and Social Work. Later Robert studied at Pepperdine University where he received a Masters in Divinity. Robert and Michele have been married 32 years and have three adult children, Elena, Alexis, and Andrew. Robert and Michele entered the ministry as missionaries planting churches in Mexico City, and Miami. He and Michele also led churches and ministries in Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and New York. After returning to San Diego, they led the San Diego Church of Christ for 7 yrs. Robert Carrillo served as CEO of HOPE worldwide for 4 years and is now finishing a Doctorate in Spirituality at Fuller Seminary. He is an Evangelist and Teacher with the Los Angeles church of Christ as well as serving on the ICOC Teachers committee.

Jeanie Shaw served in the full-time ministry for forty-seven years, most of those working alongside her husband, Wyndham. For eight years she served as a vice president of HOPE worldwide working with orphans in Eastern Europe. She has taught workshops and classes on marriage, parenting, loss, adoption, spiritual growth, leadership, and women in the church in numerous countries. In the last few years, she became a widow, retired, moved, and began her doctorate in Spiritual Formation. She has four adult children, eight grandchildren, and a golden retriever who loves hiking with her. She has authored fifteen books.
